We've lost Sky reception. On the digibox signal strength meter (Services, Signal test) SIgnal strength is 75% (but sudenly drops to 10% - 50% and returns to 75%). Picture Quality is zero, ther's no signal lock, network ID 0000, transport stream 0000. The dish, LNB and cable are brand new. Any ideas would be most welcome. Cheers, Will

As you've discovered the signal strength level is next to useless! The quality indicator is much more meaningful.

You seem to have lost the signal, but it could be a problem with your receiver. I suppose you've tried pulling the plug on it, waiting and trying again?

It may be the dish alignment - it could have moved - a crow sat on it, or something. Is the dish still pointing in generally the right direction (look at the neighbour's) and is it secure?

Equally, it could also be a problem with the cable/connectors to the LNB (the dish) or the LNB itself. Try gently wobbling the plugs at both ends.

Thanks for your input,
I replaced the dish, cable and LNB so I know thats ok, it mounted on a 6m scaffold pole so have tried slow movements and where it used to 'lock ok' it no longer does and yes, I've been through the re-boot proceedure a few times? Its the receiver I reckon?
Thanks again,
Will
Can you borrow a receiver off someone?
