because i downloaded it
cannot find it anywhere

I use firefox with xp no probs - when downloaded, did you ask it to be saved or opened? if saved it won't be installed, look for the downloaded "exe" file in your "saved" location

Excellent browser, works perfectly on XPpro SP2. Can also recommend Thunderbird for emailing as well.
