any way of deleting the send before it gets read tomorrow mornimg? A long shot i know

there is an option in outlook to recall an email.if you are lucky it will be recalled before it is read.i think you select the email right-click on it and there you will see the option to recall.
only works if you sent from outlook of course !
just title your next email
DELETE PREVIOUS EMAIL:POSSIBLY INFECTED WITH VIRUS-DO NOT OPEN PREVIOUS EMAIL

anyone seeing that will just delete them both, then just add a little speil about possible infection which may occur if last email opened due to its originating sender or some jargon, well thats what i did! Good old Lotus Notes

Mattk - the feature you mentioned is only available if you're using a Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail account. Unfortunately you can't retrieve any email sent to, say, a Hotmail account...
