need for speed most wanted,freezing (ps2)

when i race one of the people my screen freezes, and then i crash, it does it every 10 mins or if i go over 170mph, can anyone tell me why???

mite be because your disc is scratched? or does it do it with other games? if it doesnt it sounds like there maybe something up with the laser on it

Is the disc scratched? cos if it is i have a quick fix problem that works for me

boil the kettle and pour it over the cd but quickly and not too much water otherwise the cd will bend.. dry it off with a soft cloth (a clean duster works well) and voila! works for me everytime!
