Just bought a new PC and am having trouble saving documents.

If I select Word 97-2003 (.doc) as the type the document saves as Wordpad (.wps)

If I try to save a wordpad document, the only otions I have are Rich Text Format (RTF), Text Document, Text Document MS DOS Format and Unicode Text Document.

Is there a way round this, or should I load my old Word from the discs I had with my old PC.

Any helpful comments appreciated. Thanks

What program are you trying to save them with? Word or the Works Suite will probably be required to save the file as a Word file.

Or, you could install openoffice which is totally free and replaces Microsoft Office.
