I am currently looking after an Intranet and several pages have IFrames which link to folders containing numerous files. Therefore when the folders are updated so are the files which saves me a lot of time!

However, I have recently become aware that not all users can view these frames. Is there any way round this other than creating web pages with direct hyperlinks to the files which I would then have to manually update every day?

I suspect you will need to maintain links to the files, or you could be clever and write a server side script to generate the links for you.... but that's another question.
