Create a new layer, and open the second image in it. Then set the transparency of the image to overlay it, or use the eraser to bring back details from the original image underneath, combining the 2 images.

I can get the 2 images up on the screen, but I still can't get one to fit on the other! The only way I can do this is by adding text, but I want to add a picture.
sorry, it's so long since I tried this I can't actually remember whether it works or not, but can you just select the bit you want to move then drag it to where you want it on the other image with the move tool?

I can get the two images up but can't seem to get one on top of the other! If I get 2 images up, which ever one I click on becomes the "background" not the second layer. I can CREATE new layers (blank) but don't know how to make another picture I already have INTO a layer. If that makes any sense!!!
Open up both pictures side by side.
and simply drag the one picture onto the other.
On the picture with now two images on, on the layers window it should say background and layer 1
To make a picture into a layer:

in the layers window,

right click 'background' and dupliate layer

then once this happens, you should have a background and layer 1 that are the same. then just paint the background layer white to remove the orinigal image from the background. the layer 1 should still be showing on top

I tried that amulet, but all I got was the tiny pic on the left being altered. I didn't have 2 pics up the same even though there were 2 layers the same on the left.
Once the one picture is on top of the other. select the layer of the smaller picture and then go to edit, then transform, then scale. then make that image as large as u like...see how that goes
I just want to keep these instructions .
