Has anyone got the above dvd recorder?

I have read the instructions, but want to know whether you can pause in the middle of a recording ie when breaks come on.

My son wants me to recored all football matches including some of the talking inbetween on SP as much better recording than LP and I cant get the whole recording on one DVD.
