Does an O2 phone need to be unlocked to accept a vodaphone SIM card?

some phones will not be network locked, usually contract ones, seeing as you're tied in to the contract anyway.


Try another network's sim in it. If it works, you don't need to unlock it

My o2 phone takes non-o2 sim cards no probs, and it's on a contract. Apparently o2 are the least strict network about locking their phones down etc. I'd definitely just see if you can borrow a mate's sim and see if it works before you pay some dodgy geezer a fiver to unlock the phone! ;)
Yes but sometimes the phone networks will give you a unlock code so you can use any network or you can pay them to transfare you to theres.
