What is everybody's suggested best alternative to Limewire when using a Mac?

I have used limewire Pro for years but it does not like my new Apple lap top, it runs very slow, and bombs out all the time. Don''t want to leave limewire but I am at the end of my teather with it

OK. How new is your laptop? An intel one? In which case, limewire may not be a universal binary yet, and so it'll be running under rosetta, i.e. slowly!

Give BitTorrent a try:
(azureus as the client)

and then you just have to use torrent search engines like torrentspy.

Thanks, its not an intel Mac I bought it just before the switch, I know about rosetta because my Mac at work is running like a donkey because of it. Therefore I have run out of ideas as to what the problem is, have never had this kind of hassle before so thought i would try something else so thanks for the suggestion will give it a go.

i have intel mac and limewire runs fine. Maybe its your internet connection?

Limewire runs slow on my g5 at work but thats down to our server.
