Note that cookies are NOT the same as viruses, trojans etc.

Although you may have some spyware cookies they are probably not doing much harm.

You can easily remove ALL your cookies (which is a good thing to do every now and again) as follows

If you are in Internet Explorer

Choose Tools then Internet Options

On the General tab, half way down, is a button called Delete Cookies.

Just press this and all your cookies will be deleted, including the spyware ones.

wendilla,

A bit more, in case you are not sure what cookies are.

When you visit a web site (any web site, efven answerbank) it often creates a small flat file on your hard disk called a cookie.

This cookie may make a note of the date you visited the site, maybe some of the pages you visited etc.

If you type your name into the site it may also make a note of that.

This cookie is then kept on your PC.

NEXT time you visit the web site the site will look at the cookie and find out how long it is since you last visited, or look up your name.

It may then say welcome back wendilla, you have not visited us for a week.

The problem is that SOME sites put a cookie on your PC and then track you're movements on the web. This informtion is then sent back to a central server so that they can analyze what sites you are visiting and what products you are looking for (digital camera maybe)

They can then put targeted adverts on the web pages you visit.

This is why it is good to clean out all your cookies every now and again.

You can use a free product like Winpatrol to list all the cookies your do NOT want created on your PC and every time they are created Winpatrol will delete them.

To Yahoohelp yes i understand now what to do now after many attempts as I try to sort any problem out myself to understand better. The reason I tried Ad- ware se again was I already had it installed so gave it another go and must have done it right as it worked and everything is back to normal. thanks to everyone for your help.may I add I am a woman and thick but I am learning.
