Is there another way that I can find my ip address? Have tried start>run> ipconfig but it flashes up and disappears way before I can read it.

hi, click in the icon that shows when your connected to the net, then just click the details tab at the top of the box that comes up, that should tell you what you want to know

You can also open a command prompt window and type ipconfig there.

Just to expand on vehelpfulguy's suggestion :

Go to the Start menu, select Run and type cmd in there and click ok. You will get a black box up. Type ipconfig into this and that will tell you your IP address.

I tried that initially, Obonio but the cursor in the @black box' is jus frozen and wouldn't let me type. Maybe that's a problem with my pc
