When I moved into my home a few years ago there was no phone line or anything connected to the outside world. NTL came along and drilled a hole through my wall and installed a phone line, cable tv and an internet connection. Is it their cable ? what does it connect to? can I only have NTL services? I wan't to change and get away from NTL as I am very unhappy with their service, what can I do?

You can't change provider unless you have a BT line.

From what you have said, you don't. You could contact BT and see how much it would cost to connect you.
