Re-installing windows xp

I have already put this question on "How it works" but now realize it should be under Technology. Unbeknown to me I had a counderfeit copy of windows xp. Having bought and installed a legitimate copy of it, I now get an error notice when I try to play Cds Audio Systems error.

Can anyone let me know what to do
