has any body come across the email/pop up that tells you you can get a free i pod and has any body actually received a free i pod from any of these?

come across several, and yes some offers do work if you follow them through. but usually are along the lines of having the sign up for a dvd rental service or something, plug get 10 of your mates to do the same.
