Docking Station/Speakers for Ipod Video 30GB

I want to buy a docking station with speakers for my Ipod Video 30GB, essentially for use as a hi fi in the house (does not need to be portable). Does anyone have any ideas as to the best product(s) out there at a reasonable price? Many thanks.

Hi Jem,

I have an Altec Lansing In Motion. It's great. It is designed to be mobile, but the sound is fantastic. You can run it off the mains or stick half a million batteries in it. Comes with a titchy remote control too.

Like I said, it is designed to be portable, but I was reading a review of iPod accessories recently, and this one came out on top. About �200, depending on where you get it.

My brother just bought a Bose dock for the same iPod as yours. They are pricey but the sound is incredable and they look good too!

Bose SoundDock is definitely the best. I tested it out over the Christmas period and the sound is absolutely massive without any deterioration of quality.

It can thump out a massive bass too!

I also have the Altec Lansing In Motion speakers and they are amazing. You can also use them as a docking station for your 30GB iPod Video, and they it comes with its own carrying case and a variety of connectors to allow you to put other iPod models in the speakers.

I think these are about �200 in most shops but i got mine from Manchester airport in the duty free lounge for �160 so next time you go abroad, keep your eye open for them and you could save yourself 40 quid (If you ignore the few hundred quid you will have to spend to go on holiday in the first place) ;p
