Sound cutting out on digital TV

I was watching BBC3 through my set top box last night and every couple of minutes the sound would cut out for a second or so. Do you know what might have caused this? I seem to remember it happening a few months ago and the only way around it was to switch everything off (from the plug) and start again, which was rather annoying.

One thing to try is just check that your SCART leads are actually properly connected and not half-way out of the socket at one end or the other, because if they've got knocked and aren't in properly, it can cause problems like that.

Thanks jenstar. That could possibly be the reason as I moved the TV slightly last night so might have jogged the SCART leads.
I wonder if it was a technical (ie, their end) problem as we had the same thing last night on BBC3.
