It means 1280 800 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:10

In other words a fairly high resolution that approximates to widescreen (16:9)

TFT is a type of LCD screen that uses thin film transistor (TFT) technology. Each pixel is controlled from 1 to 4 transistors, giving TFT screens the best resolution of all flat-panel displays.
and WXGA basically means wide screen!

Hope this helps - sorry i sound like a geek! I'm not really! lol.

Oh and the TFT bit just means it's a liquid crystal display (as opposed to a cathode ray tube or plasma) At one time they were called TFT to distinguish them from other types of LCD, but nowadays just about all monitor LCDs are TFT
sorry lisa8880, bit of synchronicity there.
