Don't know about the best but I bought one in Asda for 70 mainy cos of the price and that its got a 3 year guarantee on it included in the price not one of these ripoff warranty ones. I was told that if anything goes wrong then they exchange it for a new one.
Contact Richer Sounds. They will find you a good quality multi-region, multi format DVD player for under 150. You have the option to buy a 5yr warranty too, and the staff are well informed. They even give you an umbrella if its raining! (This really does sound like an advert, doesn't it?) try http://www.richersounds.sv01.net/
I bought the Cyberhome from Richer Sounds for under £100. Multi-region, multiformat - plays MP3s, VCDs etc, can be made macrovision free, 5.1 sound, and not a bad picture either. Couldn't agree more that Richer Sounds are one of the most helpful shops I've used.
I too bought one from ASDA (Pacific) with a free 5 YEAR guarantee at no extra charge. It was about 80 quid and plays dvd's, vcd's (and supposedly mp3's but i've not got them to work yet).........still .........who needs to play mp3's on the telly? go to ASDA
.......actually my last answer was not quite right!! Having written that mp3's don't work I decided to just try again having felt cheated........and guess what .......i put in one i'd just downloaded from the internet and it worked fine ......so apologies, mp3's do work - so get one from ASDA!
