Burglar alarms

Is there anyone who instals burglar alarms and can help with a query? I have changed my front door and lost the point of entry sensor so I need to have a new one. I believe I can make the hall sensor do the job that the front door sensor used to, i.e. give me time to get in and switch off the alarm. At the moment the alarm goes off as soon as I step inside and the hall sensor spots me. Can I do this myself or must I have an engineer?

Would need to know what system it is that you have installed but it would be possible to do the above,

You will need to know the enginneer code though

Thank you Richard for your reply. Eventually we had to send for the engineer who fixed the problem for us. We realised that we could get into the system if we had the engineer number but he won't reveal this. It makes sense I suppose - if you can do the work yourself he would be out of a job! We are still waiting for the bill! Cheers.
