IWhy is there no easy way to rename them and hence fit more on the page without having to use the down arrow on the left?

Click Bookmarks>manage bookmarks, then right click the bookmark you want to change>properties and the problem's solved, I hope.

Great! Sorry for being a bit thick - Firefox really is the nuts isn't it
