when your iPod is docked: in iTunes, click the iPod icon at bottom-right, and make sure that disk use is enabled. then you can just use it as a normal drive; open my computer, and transfer the film to your iPod.

but if i do that i can't find the video on my ipod or watch it or anything
you just need to go back into my computer, and the video will be there. if your iPod appears as L: on your computer, then your video may be:

L:\thefilm.avi

or something.. just open it as you normally do on your hard drive.

but i still can't watch the film on my ipod, which was the reason that i wanted to put it on there in the first place. i have a mac so the ipod option shows up and i dragged it on. but there's still no way of viewing it other than on the computer
oh, actually watch it on your iPod? Well you didn't say that, I assumed you just meant to store the film on your iPod.

sorry i havn't phrased this right at all. the film is in the right format but i just want to watch it on my ipod without it taking up space on my computer.

oh, i see!

I don't think iTunes will allow you to do that, as far as I know. And I don't know of any third-party app that can do it either. Sorry.
