I have just bought a Dell Inspiron 1300 Laptop - How do I stop automatic executions of programs when the Pointer is above the icons or option?


Driving me mad!

If you click (would normally be a double click!) on My Computer, then, at the top, choose Tools, Folder Options.
On the window that opens, at the bottom is a section titled Click items as follows. You most likely want the bottom Double-Click option.

Thanks for your answer but it must be a setting on the Dell relating to the pointer, it happens with every icon/program.
