Just recently I have changed my set up from TV+Freeview Box+Video Recorder whereby I could record analogue and and watch digital or vice versa.

Now I have a Panasonic DVD-recorder with built-in Freeview +TV. I can record a digital channel and select analogue on the TV but if I record analogue I do not have the freeview available to select.

Have I done something wrong. If not the implications are that when analogue ceases and one has freeview built into the recorder then the only programme available to watch will be the one being recorded.

Presumably I will need to have a TV also with built-in freeview in order to get around this. If so do most people know this.!!

That would seem logical. Forget digital for a minute and think about analog. To watch a show, you need a tuner in the telly. To record one you need a tuner in the recorder. You can watch a show by taking the output of the recorder's tuner to the telly, but in that case, you can only watch the channel that the recorder is currently using. Exactly the same would apply with digital. So if you want to record one channel on the recorder (be it digital or analog), whilst watching a differnt channel on the telly, you will need to use the tuner in the telly. If the telly doesn't have its own digital receiver, then you will only be able to watch analog TV.
