Can anyone tell me if there are any personal players that can be played in cars? I can't get a CD player fitted as my car has an in-built radio-cassette. Would an MP3 player work?

I think the simplest idea is probably an adapter which enables you to play CDs through the cassette player. Simple to fit and inexpensive, at least compared to an MP3 player.
There's also an MP3 player shaped like a cassette! Not sure about batteries though........... http://www.romemp3.com/
The above answer is pretty cool. Another way is to purchase a "cassette" adapter that plugs into ANY headphone jack. Check a local "super electronics" store...they are pretty cheap at $5-12. I once saw one at a Dollar store, but that's rare...I should had bought it!
There is a gadget that 'transmit's ' MP3 and suchlike to your car radio( FM band ). Go to http://www.mp3-portable-players.com/digiana-audiax.html< BR>
