Any cable / satellite installers here? I need to know how far back to strip the coax cable when using ppc-ex6 compression connectors. I've been stripping the center to about 1/4 in. and the outer at about 1/2 in. , but for some reason that just doesn't seem like its right. thanks.

the outer seems ok, pull the stranded wires back over the insulation and twist it so it bunches up and can be gripped by the little clamp bit. Strip the inner longer, something like an inch, put a slight kink in it to ensure it contacts the hollow pin, then assemble the fitting, once assembled, you can cut the inner core level with the end of the hollow pin.
