Internet Connection on Laptop

Hi can anybody hep me out. i have bought a Dell Latitude CPX P3 Laptop with built in modem but i wish to connect it to a broadband internet connection. I noticed that it doesnt have a normal internet wire slot but it has a usb port. I dont have an isp at the moment but i have been told that i need a few things installed on my pc before i can get connected. Can somebody tell me what i need and where i can get them from, Thankyou

I presume you mean an internet connection at home. If so then the USB port should be the port to use. Your broadband supplier (BT, WANADOO ETC) will provide you with a modem - all you need to ensure is that it is a "USB modem".
