My laptop came with NTI CD&DVD Maker Gold pr installed, but I have never yet managed to successfully burn a video DVD that plays outside of a pc.Whenever I put the burned disc into my stand alone DVD player,a little box appears at the top left of the screen only giving me the option of JPEG or MP3,whereas if I burned the same file using Nero, the little box that appears on my DVD player would show DVD.I know the video is on the disc because it plays on my laptop.I have tried burning from MPEG,AVI & VOB files, but the result is always the same.Am I doing something wrong somewhere?

sounds like your burning the files in a computer filing system. if you have the video in VOB format use nero's 'Burn DVD Files' and use that to burn it to disc. Otherwise it will only be readable in computers.
