Carefully.
I assume you want to use your phone as a Satnav. Remember to mount your phone safely and Google Maps is as good as anything

You've already got a perfectly good satnav app on your phone, in the form of Google Maps.

Tap the Google folder and then Maps. Enter the postcode of your destination in the search box. Tap Start.

That's all there is to it!
As well as mounting your phone safely on the dash with a proper holder, you'll also want a car charger, as Google Maps running constantly will sap your battery very quickly.
^^^ A good point, Jim.

Any app which constantly uses GPS (such as MapMyWalk, as well as motoring satnav apps) will use a lot of battery resources. So, wherever possible, it's best to have a USB charging lead plugged into a phone that's being used by such an app.
//Enter the postcode of your destination in the search box. Tap Start.//

I've done that
However I can't see
a start button
It's under the map on my phone
^^^ Ditto.

I note though that it will disappear and reappear when one taps on the map. So perhaps Baz might need to tap on the map to see it?
I am guessing you will also need a lot of data available?

Thank you. It's not that easy, all sorts of other things popping up.
Are you sure it is the Google map and not a different map app?
Question Author
I did the Google one but there was option after option coming up
fourteen, Google Maps uses the 'free' GPS service, not data so very little data is used.
It is possible to download the map and route over wifi before you set off.
Sorry, tamaris, I can't understand why you are having such problems with it.
Try closing the map app, restarting your phone and try again.
