Phone problem

Our landline has gone off. No dial tone, yet when I call from mobile I get 1571 saying I'm on the phone. Broadband and Sky still work. Where is our problem?

Could be anywhere between your handset and the exchange. See if you can borrow another handset to check if it's the phone or you may get charged by your provider.

Thanks for the answers...I thought the 1571 thing might be a clue - any ideas?

Problem solved, external wires kaput. BT came and fixed. No more answers, thanks!
