Hi.

Does anybody know if there is a commercially-available machine out there which can record from NTSC tapes.

I don't mind if it can only record onto Region 2 DVD-Rs.

Many thanks.

Most UK VCRs can handle NTSC tapes these days. Can you not just SCART one up to any DVD Recorder? (Or use a two-in-one machine?)

Thanks LeMarchand, I have tried that. Unfortunately, my DVD recorder seems to know it's NTSC and comes up with a message that it cannot record from it. This also happened when I tried to record from two separate machines.

Hmmm...

Bit of a long way around, but the other option would be to record the tape to your PC (you would need some appropriate hardware) and then create the DVD on your computer. If you don't have a DVD burner, you could create a VCD. I have a video input card that definitely allows NTSC input - I'd test the theory but only have PAL tapes!
