Whatsapp Not Alphabetical

On my Samsung phone, if I press the green logo bottom right, my list of contacts used to become alphabetical but they don’t now. The only way they become alphabetical is if I press the green logo and then New Group …. But I can’t make a call that way. Easy help please!

When I open WhatsApp I have Chats, Status, Calls at the top of the screen. And my list of contacts below.

Green button . > Contacts. >The three vertical dots ⫶ .> Settings. > Contacts ... Now in that list tap Sort By and choose the one that you entered your contacts in. Usually First Name or Last Name.
