A while ago my macbook had just restarted and every single file on it was hidden so I had to find a technician to recover them. However whenever I had needed to update one of the recovered files it didn't actually update that original file (which was the file my laptop was apparently using). I need to update the file however I have no idea where it's located, it's not showing in any of the search engines or anything. I tried asking the tech guy but he was stuck too. He said the only thing he could do was copy and past the recovered files, not update them. So what I think i'm asking is how to find the old files that are hidden so I can move them in order to update them and not the copied ones on a macbook.
