Thank you Jno, I found a suitable card in my drawer. Thanks for answering my question.
That camera is 15 years old. Although it work with regular SD cards, it appears (from looking at the specs on HP's own website) that it only accepts cards with up to 2 GB capacity. Quote: "This camera supports standard and high speed, HP-branded Secure Digital (SD) memory cards from 8 MB to 2 GB"

Given that the smallest capacity SD cards sold in many stores these will hold 8 GB of data (which is four times more than your camera can handle), you'll probably need to buy online. HP ceased making cards with such a low storage capacity about a decade ago, so you'll need to find an alternative brand. However any make should do anyway. This seller charges £4 for one 2 GB card or £7 for two:

according to P53 of the manual, 2GB seems to be the biggest it will take.
