Walt Disney have decided to replace Winnie the Pooh's best friend,Christopher Robin, with a red haired, 6 year old, tomboy.
This has made my own 6 year old, red haired, tomboy extremely happy, but it's given me the grumps.
Why can't Disney leave old favourites alone and concentrate on new, vibrant characters that our children can treasure when they're older?
Is it always about the money????

I think you are being a bit precious about the older Disney version of Pooh that gave Tigger a Brooklyn accent! A A Milne has probably given up spinning in his grave. The poor memory of original Pooh is sadly long gone and more messing about with it makes no difference now.

"Promise you wont forget about me - ever - ever"

exactly, I'm reading the original Pooh stories at the moment (giving my brain a rest from 3rd year Uni English!) and a lot of what AA Milne wrote about has been ignored for the Disney versions. Pooh Bear has a gruff voice in the books, not a soft dopey one. But then presumably AA Milne's family sold the rights to Disney or at least have a say in what they do with the characters, *they* are the ones who should feel guilty, not Disney. Disney is a multi billion dollar company, of course it's about the money!

Why have you both assumed I was talking about Disney's earlier films and not the books?
Sorry! Just ranting and not concentrating!
