I don't know where to start TBH as I don't really have anyone that could help me.
At present I have one on contract from Tesco at £7.50 a month. I think it's 4gb.
It is running out of data now as I've had It about 3 year. My friend got one under plus net which seemed reasonable priced.
I also have an old type with vodaphone.
I want to pay as little as possible probably on contract a month with more data. HELP.

Your phone has 8 GB of memory built into it but roughly 3 GB of that is taken up by the Android operating system, etc. So that only leaves you about 5 GB for storing app, videos, photos, etc. (For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy A12, that I recommended above, has 64 GB of memory built into it, so you can see that your phone hasn't really got a lot!). You can add to the...

Chris if I buy the Samsung one you have is that on a monthly contract ? I don't understand all this tech talk ?

I'm not in a tight budget at present
tamaris - there are two ways of buying a mobile phone.
1. Buy it direct from any shop such as Amazon, paying in full. This is not on a contract but will not have a SIM card (the bit you need to use the phone to make calls, send texts and use the internet. The SIM card will also have the phone number). You can buy a SIM card from any network provider - the one that is the best value for your needs. Alternatively, you could use the SIM card from your old phone and keep your phone number.

2. Buy it on contract from a network provider - this is usually a monthly payment that covers the cost of the phone and the SIM card. This usually works out more expensive than option 1 because you are effectively paying interest on the cost of the phone.

I always buy my phone and outright.
I forgot to say that under option 1 you will still be paying for your SIM card monthly.

It's all so complicated for me to take in tbh
Deep breath, tamaris.
Tell us:
What you want to do with your phone - is the camera quality important; do you need lots of storage for apps, videos, music, books, files etc; do you play games; do you make video calls such as Zoom; do you use it to watch tv or stream video such as Netflix; do you want wireless charging; do you use it as a satnav?

How much do you want to spend on the phone? Android or Apple? Is the brand important?

What screen size do you want? Do you want a big screen which means a big phone or do you prefer something more compact?

Do you make lots of calls? Do you use a lot of 4G data (connect to the internet when you are away from home and not connected to a wifi hotspot)?

I've just found this which may be helpful

Haha I don't have a 5 year old here. I take some photos. I have some apps but I can't get Wetherspoons which I want. I use the Lidl one daily. I'm not fussed about music or films as I have a desktop. I use WhatsApp daily.I have a niece in Oz. I use facebook. I phone from this phone I can't phone out on my house phone. It doesn't matter if it's a new number.
Question Author
I want to use Wi-Fi just a little if I'm out of house. I can't do now very much.
It seems daft to me to buy a new phone just because you can't get the Wetherspoons app on it.
Do you have any apps that you don't use? If you uninstall them, reboot - you will be able to install the Wetherspoons app
You mean 4G if you are out of the house. Wifi when you are at home :)
And if you buy the cheap memory card that Buenchico linked to earlier you will have much more room for apps and everything else. Got to be easier than stressing about buying a new phone and setting it up

I don't have many apps barry
Are you happy with tesco re coverage?
if so i'd be tempted to go into a tesco phone shop and get advice. You don;t have to take it :)

Ii asked in Tesco about a year ago for help. All they wanted to do was well me another. I have been using since then
Tamaris I have recently upgraded my phone. I have been a Tesco Mobile customer for a few years and so rang the customer service people for advice.

They are extremely helpful and I now have an new phone which is the same price per month, £10, but have a 50p discount for returning customer.

All I had to do was put the sold sim into the new phone and connect the two phones for data transfer. I found it very easy to do and I am no technology expert.

4455 on your phone... Customer Care.
old sim, not sold sim.
What phone have you got now, Tilly?

Tamaris, will you try the memory card for £6? It can be used in the new phone if it doesn't solve your problem.
Barry, I now have a Moto e(7i) power.

If you think that's best barry. I really have no idea
I get the idea you just want a new phone, tamaris - and there's nothing wrong with that.
Get that memory card, pop it in and see how you go. At least you'll get to know how to put it in and use it :)
