The police are prohibited from revealing any information about anyone's brushes with the law other than under very specific circumstances. (e.g. they're allowed to provide information to a single mother who is concerned that her new partner might have been convicted of child abuse, or of domestic violence, but only subject to very strict rules, with most applications for such information actually being rejected).
However they're not, for example, allowed to tell you that the guy who's just moved in next door to you has multiple convictions for domestic burglary, often on his neighbour's houses. So they're most definitely not permitted to tell anyone that a person has been involved in a crime which led to a statutory resolution order being used.
