An ex-friend built my computer and installed the above programme, amongst others. Now I want to remove it, but of course it keeps telling me I need the disk,. As I said, he is my ex-friend, and I cannot now get hold of the disk!! Is there any way round this?

You shouldn't need the disc.

Go to START and FIND and enter ROXIO. When your PC has located all the ROXIO files, click on them and DELETE - all together, or one at a time, it doesn't matter. Then go to ADD / REMOVE PROGRAMMES

Sorry, my PC decided to submit then (well, actually I pressed a wrong key!) where was I ...

Oh yes, go to ADD / REMOVE PROGRAMMES and again delete anything that says ROXIO.

Power down, re-boot, and it should be gone.

I do this all the time, because I use Nero to burn discs, and Roxio to label them, and the two programmes don't get on. I have deleted and re-installed Roxio using the above instructions, and I have no problems. I'm using Windows '98 - if you are on 2000 or XP, this may not work, and you'll need advice from a techie, not a Luddite programme-cruncher like me!

Good luck.

If you still need the CD to remove it from add/remove programs you can download the windows installer cleanup utility from here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301 Install and run it then it will give a list of applications that have been installed using the windows installer. Select Roxio then remove it. This will remove all traces of roxio from the registry. Then delete the roxio files from the c:\program files\roxio directory. Sadly, you can use this on your ex-friend.

Thanks, both of you. I had been trying to remove the programme on Add/Remove programmes, and that's where it was asking for the CD, so I followed the advice of j2buttonsw, and have successfully removed it! The ex- friend had removed himself, so that was OK!

Thanks for your help.
