When I had to reformat my hardrive a couple of months back I just plugged my modem in and away I went. I'm registered to Blueyonder broadband and didn't need to register again - same applied to the second computer when we hooked it up via a router.

For dial-up networking:

Directions -
Every time I reinstall Windows, I always forget to save my ISP information. An easy method exists for saving this information into a small file.

1. Load regedit
2. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER RemoteAccess key
3. From the File menu select Export
4. This will open up the save menu. In the "Export Range" box make sure the correct "selected branch" is selected.
5. Save the registry file (*.reg extension)

Loading this reg file will import your ISP settings into the registry.
