outlook is my email - however many times through the last few weeks - when I go to reply to them a message will come up saying something - the original email will not go through with this - and neither it does.

have I locked or done something.

Are these emails from friends or companies?

Not all emails accept replies.

yes they're friends and I have emailed them many times before
I hope someone more technical can advise JJ.

I think there's something in the settings you can change so when you reply the original message is not sent

right bednobs I wouldn't be concerned about the original post going back, it's my reply post won't go through, you type it, send it and for a moment it looks as if it's going through - then a note at top right - we can't send it
Try ophtek.com it’s a bit long winded but might help until someone on here can give an easier explanation!
Jenny, how are you replying? Are you clicking 'reply' in the message that is open, or are you clicking 'new mail' and manually adding the address?
Jenny, on your Outlook account there is a tab send/receive. Click it and you will see a tab with what looks like a globbe with 'work offline'. Make sure this has a red x at the side of it. Look down to the bottom right of your screen and see if there is a message 'you are working off line' . If there is, click the globe once and see if the message changes to 'connecting you'.
