I know that this is more complex than the old laptop, it takes some getting used to especially as it runs windows 10.
I assume that you don't need to securely delete the data (as you might if you'd got sensitive financial information stored on the memory stick and you were worried that someone could get hold of it and use file recovery software to see what used to be there).

With that assumption then (and also assuming that you want to delete everything on the stick, and not just some of the files) . . .

Insert the stick into a USB port. If a dialogue box pops up and asks you what you want to do, click on 'Open folder to view files'. Or, if nothing happens, go to 'Computer' and double-click on the icon for the USB drive.

You've now got a window open which shows you the contents of the drive. Press Ctrl and A together to highlight everything. Right-click and select 'Delete'.
Thanks Chris. :o}

I think you were having trouble finding 'My Computer' on your new laptop? Annoyingly they renamed this to 'This PC'!! You can by scrolling all the way down to Windows System find it there. Right Click on 'This PC' and choose 'Pin To Taskbar'
