Dave says if he saw Mally doing a pirouette in her tutu he'd be blowing his horn.... :-)

I've never seen a great deal of point to it but I'm certainly not against it and I'll probably join in if my neighbours are out there clapping (although there didn't seem to be anyone in our street doing it last week anyway).
I've lost track of exactly who we're meant to be clapping for though. For the first few times it was for NHS workers but, according to most news websites, last week's applause (where it existed) was actually meant to be for care workers. So who is it for this week?

As I prepare to clap I mentioned to the memsahib that us darn Sarf are always accused of being pretty aloof ,distant and unfriendly. May be an element of truth in that.
I wonder if we ,as a nation, would have come out to clap ALL our unsung heroes and frontline staff if the Italians hadn't started it first with their wonderful amateur opera singers coming out on their balconies and giving renditions to all. They are so much more emotional and that's not so bad. I mentioned on another thread that last week we actually chatted to our neighbours over our front dividing wall. We are never unfriendly but tend to keep ourselves to ourself and don't like to be in each other's face. The memsahib mentioned that eggs, strangely, were short on the shelves and next day we had a dozen presented to us with no charge accepted. Neighbours had a skip delivered on their front and also invited us to use it as they saw I was clearing out my workshop and garage.Through these difficult times it is quite heart warming to see a community spirit out there which normally is pretty alien around these parts. Then,of course, I visit AB and my pleasant dream is spoilt by some. :-(
