I'm not, just saying :-)
So are we. Mr T has the saucepan and spoon ready. I just clap.
I am. As always. Just sayin’.

Just trying to lighten AB up a tad :0)
I've never seen a great deal of point to it but I'm certainly not against it and I'll probably join in if my neighbours are out there clapping (although there didn't seem to be anyone in our street doing it last week anyway).

I've lost track of exactly who we're meant to be clapping for though. For the first few times it was for NHS workers but, according to most news websites, last week's applause (where it existed) was actually meant to be for care workers. So who is it for this week?
I'm not … as always. (Balance on AB - as in life - is good.)
Can’t clap, arthritis very bad in hands at mo. Can bang my saucepan with a wooden spoon though!

Anyone and every key worker, least that’s why I go out Chris
Parents with young children Chris !!
All those on the 'front line'. Wonder if that includes all the 'unsung' workers who are keeping the country going.
Question Author
Yes, bin men , the lot Ken
I was always under the impression that young children were perfectly capable of making plenty of noise without anyone else's help, Anne ;-)
Question Author
Ha? Asquith would hate living here ( well she would anyway ;)
I’ve got a large speaker and I’ll be playing Cpt Tom and Michael Balls song when the clapping stops......in the front garden that is :0))))))
Classy.

Sure as hell am :0)
As I prepare to clap I mentioned to the memsahib that us darn Sarf are always accused of being pretty aloof ,distant and unfriendly. May be an element of truth in that.
I wonder if we ,as a nation, would have come out to clap ALL our unsung heroes and frontline staff if the Italians hadn't started it first with their wonderful amateur opera singers coming out on their balconies and giving renditions to all. They are so much more emotional and that's not so bad. I mentioned on another thread that last week we actually chatted to our neighbours over our front dividing wall. We are never unfriendly but tend to keep ourselves to ourself and don't like to be in each other's face. The memsahib mentioned that eggs, strangely, were short on the shelves and next day we had a dozen presented to us with no charge accepted. Neighbours had a skip delivered on their front and also invited us to use it as they saw I was clearing out my workshop and garage.Through these difficult times it is quite heart warming to see a community spirit out there which normally is pretty alien around these parts. Then,of course, I visit AB and my pleasant dream is spoilt by some. :-(
I agree with Ken. There are an awful lot of unsung people who are keeping things going
Clapping is great. Just glad Night Sky Lanterns stopped their silly lanterns sent up every Sunday. Trying to do it now for charity but not the NHS.

That was silly I agree Gness and dangerous
>>> That was silly I agree Gness and dangerous

. . .and all started by a London firm that just happened to be in the business of selling sky lanterns!
