Where Are The Eggs?

Fresh eggs seem to have disappeared from the online sites I've looked at...haven't seen any in a week. Are there ANY in the supermarkets?

Been shopping this morning and all shelves were full except for tinned tomatoes and yeast.

A few in Sainsburys this morning. Now, if only somewhere had some flour (any flour!) I could do some baking!

My Tesco has eggs

I just looked at Tesco online...of 12 egg offers, only 3 are in stock. There were none before the weekend. Iceland has had none on their site for a week.

Loads in the shops but not going into online orders. I am still hunting yeast, or buttermilk

A bit off topic - I've been doing some of Jamie Oliver's recipes from his daily programme and one requires black bean sauce. I couldn't find it in the supermarket so does anyone know what I could use as a substitute.

It's always worth trying a corner shop or a farm shop for things you can't get in supermarkets.

without wanting to sound like i'm bragging, we appear never to have a problem with eggs here (Hampshire) and have got them will all of my shops when i needed them recently. I also had flour (both sorts) in my morrisons delivery last week. Haven't looked at yeast as I haven't needed it. My neighbour was asking if we had any bread flour yesterday and I emptied out the cupboards and was excited to find some, till I realised it went out of date 7 years ago!

Last time I saw eggs in Sainsburys was 14th March. I buy mine from a local butcher now and he always has plenty.
