My printer won't print any of my documents in Microsoft Word or Excel but it will print things like emails, or selected area of text from news reports etc. Would I need to uninstall Microsft office and reinstall it or is there an easier way? Thanks.

It's possible that 'Print only the data from a form has become enabled'. That produces blank pages when no form is in use. Scroll down to 'Printing Only the Form Data' here. Those instructions are for enabling that feature but you'll be trying to do the reverse. (i.e. you're hoping to find the relevant box pre-checked, so that you can remove the check mark):...

It’s probably ‘forgotten’ about your printer and is ‘printing’ to the Microsoft print to PDF option. Go to file, then print and check that your printer is selected, if not, select it and then try to print.
Question Author
Fitzer when you say 'Go to file' you would have to be more specific than that please. I don't know where file is.
In the absence of Fitzer's reply, I think he means click on the file tab at the very top of the page and select "Print" from the menu which appears, rather than just clicking the "Printer" symbol. That will display more options for you.
Question Author
bhf, I can't see where there is a file tab. Does it depend on which version of Microsoft Office you have?
It should be at the top left-hand side of the screen.

^^^^^^^On the Microsoft Office page?
Hi Barsel, with your document open you should (I presume, I don’t have Word on this machine) have a menu at the top, one of the options should be file
Question Author
With the document open it says at the top, Home, Insert, Page layout, Formulas, Data, Review, View. I've opened all these but it doesn't say file anywhere.
Hmm, is this Office 365? Anyway, how would you print the document normally, do you use a menu option or do you use the ctrl+P method? Essentially what you want to do is get into the print dialogue, where you can choose your options such as number of copies etc. In standalone Word this was/is accessed from the file menu and selecting print.
Question Author
I'm using Microsoft Office 2007. I've managed to get into the print page and where it says name, it says the name of my printer. At the very top it gives me the chance to preview or quick print. I don't know why it's suddenly not printing from there.
Oh fiddlesticks! After all that it wasn’t what I thought, sorry. If it knows about your printer then I’m afraid I don’t know why it’s not printing.
Question Author
There is a box that says Print to file, and it's not ticked but I don't know if it should be or not?
No it shouldn’t be ticked. So, your printer is selected, number of copies is set to one (or however many) and you then press print. What happens then?
Question Author
The paper goes through but comes out blank. I printed a coupon from an email today and it was fine, but when I want to print a document from either Word or Excel it just comes out blank.
Here's the dialogue box I see when I hit Ctrl and P together:

The chosen print driver ('Canon MG5700 Series Printer (Copy 1)' is highlighted. You should see 'Canon MG5600 Series Printer' highlighted there instead. Do you?

The printer status in my example is shown as 'Ready'. Is that what you see?
Question Author
Chris, yes it's highlighted in blue, but where are you seeing ready? I can see 'Idle'When I click on 'Find Printer' it says The active directory Domain service is currently unavailable. If that helps.

>>> where are you seeing ready?

Next to 'Status'. (See the image in my link). It's possible that your dialogue box might look slightly different to mine though.
Question Author
Sorry Chris I'm really struggling with this. Would it right itself if I uninstall and reinstall?
Question Author
Next to status mine is saying Idle.
