does anybody find that their internet connection goes off when it is raining?, i know it sounds daft!, but every time for the last several months, our internet connection with wanadoo broadband goes off if it rains. has anybody else experienced this, or is it connected with wanadoo. any comments or advice would be gratefully appreciated, as we do all our banking, bill paying etc over the net,so its a major problem when its not working.we live in the manchester area, so you must know it rains a lot!

Water is getting into a connection somewhere and causing a short-circuit, probably outside in a junction box. I suggest you get BT to check your wiring and sealing on the boxes, between the wall socket and the exchange.

Yes I agree with QS on this, my connection has does done the almost the same thing, it is most definately water getting into a connection somewhere, the problem is that it does not make a complete short circuit, probably your phone still works OK? or maybe you can talk but it won't ring? So when the line is checked it might show that it is OK if the weather is not bad on that day! Insist with your service provider that they check for the broadband operation and not just the phone service operation (when its raining).
