Dropbox Not Working

When I take photos on my Samsung Galaxy 4, it saves them in a gallery. However when I try to attach a photo to an email or something it takes about 10 or 12 goes, as it keeps reverting to the home screen. I have noticed it says 'Dropbox no longer working' everytime I use the tablet. I wondered if this was linked to the problem. The tablet is about 5 yrs old and used every day, so just wondered if this problem could be fixed. Any help appreciated
