I have just bought a 1gb mp man mp3 player from comet, it will only let me download aprox 150 songs onto it, although it says there is nearly 500mb of memory left, it will also only let me play 99 of them,

says something on the information disc about putting music into files, but doesn't explain how !!!

has anyone else bought one of these and had the same problem, any ideas how to sort it ?

absolutley doing my head in now !!!

thanks in advance

we had exactly the same problem with a different make.

we opened 'my computer' then right clicked on the external drive, then clicked 'format' ...worked a treat but yours may be different.only thing is drag out what you can before you start because it wipes it all off.

i cant guarantee this because our was a different make.

good luck.or take it back to Comet!!!!

This is a common problem.

Many mp3 player file structures are restricted to 99 files in their root, or 'base', directory.

Don't worry though there's an easy way around it....just create folders (on the mp3 drive in 'My Computer') up to 99 in total....and fill these with mp3 tracks (perhaps organise the folders by genre?).
