Toshiba Gigabeat File Type

I have a Toshiba Gigabeat and when i transfer MP3's from my computer onto the player it automatically converts the file into an .SAT file. Does anyone know how i can convert these back into MP3 files when i put them back onto my computer from the MP3 player? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
