Changing from Letter to A4

For some reason when I open a document on my computer it opens as 'Letter' paper format rather than A4, even if the doc was saved as A4. Is there a way of stopping it from doing that?

Currently every time I open a doc I have to go to page set up and change the paper size but it's getting a bit tiring!

I'm assuming you're using Microsoft Word, cuddlycat?

In which case, go back to 'page setup' and reset the paper to A4. Then click on the 'default' button at the bottom left. This will instruct your pc to recognise A4 as the new template from then on.

Cuddlycat, you might also like to try clicking on Start, then Printers and Faxes. In the Printers window, find the default printer (if you have more than one installed) - it's the one with the tick.

Now right-click on the icon for the printer and choose Properties. See if there is a Preferences button (Epson has Printing Preferences) and set up your printer the way you want it.

This should set up your printer for all your packages.
