Ok Margo ...thanks.
Just wondered if any AB had a tablet "not to be bought at any price." You know, personal experience which seems to be of little significance in the era of Google.
Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation

Will you use it on wifi only?
Or do an Amazon search and you can see the reviews too. I have a kindle fire, which is great.
OH got an Alcatel free which he says is rubbish, very slow. A friend has a Samsung which she reckons is excellent butunfortunately I'm not sure which one it is. I guess a lot depends on how much you want to spend

hc it's not for me, but yes, WIFI only....thanks.
Have you got one?
I have a tablet and a smart phone. I use my smart phone far more for emails and browsing the internet.
I don't have a Fire but I do keep up with news and reviews and if I wanted to buy a cheap tablet today for emails and internet browsing that is the one I would buy.

The other is a Medion from Aldi, when they have them
I have a Kindle Fire. It's great.
We did have a Tesco Hudl which was equally as good except where it plugs in to charge.
Get an iPad and be done with it!
You don't need an iPad for emails and surfing - it is not a cheap tablet.

Thanks folks, very helpful comments.
A year or so ago I got a free Kindle Fire from the Telegraph for taking out a year's subscription.
(We were getting the Guardian and Telegraph anyway.)
And have to say it is a pretty good little machine, simple and to the point.
Definitely recommend it.

Thanks JK.
I was lucky enough to work somewhere where I got a good discount on an ipad. However, I only use it to surf and email so it is wasted on me really. A Kindle Fire, Tesco Hudl or similar would definitely be adequate. With rfegards suggestions that anyone posting a question could just as easily do a Google Search, that of course is true, but the great thing about AB is the two way process of giving/sending info that is specific to that person - which makes it more personal. Hope you find something that ticks the boxes for your needs.
kindle fire !!
I second that! Kindle fire!!!!
